Recent Work
Delivering electrical systems that keep New Zealand's water and wastewater systems running.

Katikati WWTP MBBR
Western Bay of Plenty District Council
This project involned the electrical design, supply, and installation of electrical and controls for a new two stage moving bed biofilm reactor as part of the Katikati Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade.
This project also involved electrical upgrades that were required to facilitate the installation of the new MBBR.

Owhango Membrane Filtration
Ruapehu District Council
This project involved the electrical design, supply, and installation for the upgrade of the Owhango Water Treatment Plant.
This included Ultrafiltration Membrane technology and a UV Pre-treatment system to enhance water quality and treatment efficiency for the Ruapehu District Council.

Seaview Outfall Pump Station
Wellington Water
This project involved the design, procurement, and fabrication of a new MCC providing automatic changeover between mains and generator supply, along with the electrical upgrade of the main outfall pump station as part of the Seaview Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade.
This included the removal of two existing DC motors and ABB DC variable speed drives, and replacement with two new 750 kW ABB motors and AC VSDs.

Ohakea Initial Civils SP1
New Zealand Defence Force
This project involved the electrical works for a new wastewater pump station and buffer tank facility, including the MCC building, main switchboard, pump controls, instrumentation, and associated field wiring.
The scope included wet well and storage tank level monitoring, discharge flow measurement, pressure instrumentation, washwater controls, and coordination around a 200 kVA transformer upgrade and commissioning of the completed pump station system.

Ohakea Initial Civils SP2
New Zealand Defence Force
This project involved the electrical works for a wastewater transfer pump station designed to receive and transfer raw wastewater through to the wider reticulation network.
The scope included the pump station control panel, PLC and HMI controls, instrumentation, field wiring, duty/standby pump operation on variable speed drives, wet well level control, discharge flow measurement, and SCADA interface points.

Ohakea Initial Civils SP3
New Zealand Defence Force
This project involved the electrical works for a new fluoride and chlorine booster plant supporting the site’s potable water supply system.
The scope included chemical dosing equipment, pump controls, PLC controls, instrumentation, field wiring, chlorine and fluoride dosing systems, flow-paced dosing control, online analyser integration, and SCADA interface points for monitoring and operation.

Parihaka WTP
Parihaka Papakainga Trust
This project involved the electrical design, supply, and installation for the new Parihaka Water Treatment Plant.
The works included process control design for the raw water bore pumps, saturation system, biologically activated carbon filtration, UV disinfection, chemical dosing, compressed air systems, backwash storage and pumping, and treated water storage.

Roots Street WTP
Manawatu District Council
This project involved the electrical design, supply, and installation for the Roots Street Water Treatment Plant, designed to deliver up to 200 m³ of treated water per hour.
The scope included power and control wiring for UV disinfection units, cartridge filtration, and chlorine and HFA dosing systems. The installation also incorporated a 110 kW bore pump and a duty/standby arrangement of 55 kW reticulation pumps supplying the town network.

PE Pipe Extrusion Line
Infra Pipe
This project involved the electrical design, supply, and installation for the Infrapipe factory in Palmerston North to support a new PE corrugated culvert pipe extrusion line, producing pipes up to 1 meter in diameter.
The works included a main switchboard rated at 2000 amps, cable containment, and associated power and control cabling. A 1000 kVA generator was installed as the primary power source, supplying power to the new plastic extrusion line.

Ohura WTP Container Fit Out
Ruapehu District Council
This project involved the electrical fit out of two new 40’ containers (pumping and filtration/UV) for the Ohura Water Treatment Plant.
This included the electrical design, procurement, and installation of a new switchboard and control panels. The containers were delivered to Electro’s workshop in Palmerston North for the electrical fit out and FAT testing.

Hikumutu WTP Upgrade
Ruapehu District Council
This project involved the installation of a new mains power, MCC, and PLC controls to support 6 new 22KW motors, 3 for aeration and 3 for mixing of the existing settling ponds.
It also involved the installation of power and control for a new inlet screen.

Lido Filtration Upgrade
Palmerston North City Council
This project involved electrical works for the Lido pool filtration system, including relocation of the existing switchboard equipment, installation of a new mains board, process control panel, PLC upgrade, and relocation of VSD equipment.
